The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale brings updated styling, refined interior details and performance-focused enhancements to the brand’s compact luxury SUV. Designed to blend Italian design with everyday usability, the Tonale continues to serve as Alfa Romeo’s entry point into the premium SUV segment.
Exterior design
The Tonale features a refreshed front fascia highlighted by a concave scudetto grille inspired by the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Updated lower air intakes and a wider stance give the SUV a more athletic appearance. New wheel designs are available, including 20-inch three-hole alloy wheels on select trims.
Three new exterior colors join the lineup for 2026: Rosso Brera, Verde Monza and Giallo Ocra, complementing Alfa Romeo’s traditional color palette.
Interior and comfort
Inside, the Tonale maintains a driver-focused layout with upgraded materials and finishes across the lineup. Leather seating is available in black or red, with red leather offered for the first time on the Tonale. Higher trims add Alcantara accents, contrast stitching and ambient interior lighting.
The cabin emphasizes a balance of sport-inspired design and daily comfort, with available ventilated front seats and a power hands-free liftgate.
Performance and capability
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing approximately 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard Q4 all-wheel drive.
Drivers can tailor performance using Alfa Romeo’s DNA drive mode selector. Available features include dual-mode suspension, aluminum paddle shifters and Brembo brakes, designed to enhance handling and braking performance.
Trim levels
The 2026 Tonale is offered in three trims:
- Sprint: Includes 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, aluminum interior accents and cloth seating with contrast stitching.
- Veloce: Adds 19-inch wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, dual-mode suspension, aluminum paddle shifters and ventilated leather seats.
- Sport Speciale: Features exclusive silver exterior accents, gloss-black Brembo calipers, 20-inch wheels and an Alcantara-trimmed interior.
Technology and safety
The Tonale is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration, along with a suite of standard driver-assist and safety features. Full safety ratings and fuel economy figures will be released closer to launch.
