Since 1958, the nationwide Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC) has been creating strong relationships and offering unique experiences for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts across the United States. The Alfa Romeo Owners Club has 46 chapters throughout the country that share news, events, and happenings for those with an affinity for the Italian automaker. Luckily for Georgians, a local chapter exists right in our backyard – the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta. The Atlanta chapter of the club was formed in 1972 and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. With 128 members, this fun group welcomes all Alfa enthusiasts; also known as Alfisti, in the North Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Alabama areas.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta holds various social gatherings throughout the year, inviting all members to experience an all-Alfa Romeo adventure. Members can enjoy unique outings such as driving trips to a winery or a scenic joy ride followed by fellowship over lunch. Members of the Alfa Romeo Owner Club of Atlanta have access to a full-coverage monthly magazine, technical advice and sessions, a technical library for all models, annual national conventions, and more.

We had the pleasure to speak with Harry Crytzer, the current president of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta, about what being an Alfisti is all about. Keep reading to learn more about the group and how to get involved.
What inspired you to take the lead of the Atlanta chapter of AROC?
My name is Harry Crytzer and I’m the current President of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta. I’ve been in love with the Alfa Romeo brand since I attended my first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1969. They were one of the teams entered in the race and many of the fans drove their Alfas to the track and it was there where I said to myself, “I need to own one of those.” When I returned home the search began and at the age of 19, I purchased my first Alfa. It wasn’t until 2012 and living in San Diego that I became involved with the local San Diego chapter and served on the board for four years before I moved to Atlanta. Within one year I was serving on the board to help support the club here in Atlanta.
What is this organization all about?
Being a part of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta allows members to be exposed to more than just acquiring technical information about Alfa Romeo automobiles. Joining allows members to create long-lasting friends with those who share the same love for Alfa Romeo. The Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta is a very casual, informal, welcoming group of Alfa Romeo enthusiasts from all surrounding areas. Members can expect weekend driving tours, such as going on a day trip to a winery, going on a ride through the countryside, and other social gatherings like summer picnics. Those who are owners of an Alfa Romeo automobile can share these experiences among other Alfa owners, but ownership is not required to become a member.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta holds a casual dinner meeting on the first Sunday of every month at 5 p.m. To fit the theme, the current meeting location is at The Mad Italian.

?What is the goal of the group?
The purpose of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta is to:
Foster, encourage, and promote knowledge of the history and traditions of the marque, to disseminate technical information, promote knowledge and understanding for the safe and efficient operation of Alfa Romeo automobiles, organize social, educational, and amateur sporting events, and teach and encourage safe and skillful driving in competition events and on the public roads.
How can people join Alfa Romeo’s Owners Club?
They can join the AROC National Club for a nominal cost of $68.00 per year and designate the Atlanta Club as their local affiliation. We have a more local presence with our members by having our own website and a club bulletin that is sent to members six times per year informing them of upcoming events over the next couple of months. Members can join by clicking here and selecting their local chapter.
Tell us more about these events?
Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta members can expect an un-brrr-lievable time at our events. Most recently, on January 8, 2022, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Atlanta participated in the 22nd Annual Polar Bear Run, sponsored by Georgia Triumph Association. This annual run is a joint event with other car clubs, where participants ride in style in their convertibles with the top down. No matter the weather, cold or not, participants dress to the occasion and enjoy the fresh air as they drive through the mountainside. Members can also expect fun monthly meetings at The Mad Italian. It’s the perfect blend of Alfisti passion and southern hospitality!
